Turquoise,
December's birthstone----it is said that it warns of illness when
it's color changes, and brings luck and happiness and success
in life to the wearer. This piece of turquoise is one I've collected
in my travels; I chose it for it's character, size and beauty.
The color is more green than blue with a black matrix on the lower
right side that resembles a river with tiny islands and tributaries
that go off in all directions. This pendant is a large teardrop.
It is 1and 1/4th inches wide at the top, 1 and 1/2 inches wide
in the middle and 2 inches long from top to bottom. The bale is
thick, strong and can accommodate almost any chain. It is 1/4th
inch round inside. It can be opened and closed with a simple hand
tool so that it can be put on a cord or chain without having to
go through a clasp. This pendant was designed to be worn on a
long chain below the breasts or a shorter chain that would make
it rest on that sweet flat spot on the chest that is the neck's
best showcase.
